Never Before Seen Results from Papago Golf Course in Phoenix, AZ
"I’ve done everything to this berm here to promote growth to the extent I even did some hand injection. Since the implementation of WaterSOLV™ Curative I’ve done nothing to it and it is as green and vibrant as any turf on the course."
June 20, 2017 - We just returned from visiting our installation at Papago Golf Course in Phoenix, AZ where we began treatment in September of 2016. Initially we were called in to mitigate the zebra mussels in the sprinkler lines. We applied our material by continuous chemical injection at the rate of 1 gallon per A/ft. of water – 3 ppm.
About 6 months thereafter, without further mussel incident, based on water and soil analysis we increased the dosage to further mitigate salt and hardness in the source water and what had built up over time in the soil profile.
Following 9 months of treatment, we were invited out to the course to see the results of our program. Here is what we were shown and told:
It’s June and each fairway and green is striped. You just don’t see striped fairways and greens in AZ in June.
See the apron on the greens, they look like it is winter.
The is a rough between the tee box and green on the par 3. We scraped it to lower it for water retention. We’ve never been able to promote growth here and we tried everything. As you can see, since the implementation of the WaterSOLV™ Curative, the turf is vigorous and as healthy as it gets.
You can see in this fairway the Bermuda and some of the rye. Everything appears healthy, vibrant and green. I’ve never seen the course so green at this time of year. See those little mud spots, they are everywhere, lots of worms. If the worms are happy, the turf is too.
This par 3 tee box has always been a challenge due to the two eucalyptus trees on the east edge. I exhausted all my resources and WaterSOLV™ has it looking perfect.
This site will use approximately 550 gallons of WaterSOLV™ in 2017 to treat the water and to remediate the mussels, followed by the salt and hardness in the soil profile.
In 2018 we anticipate the total chemical demand will decrease about 50% where it will only be necessary to treat the water to prevent the problems from re-occurring.
It is estimated the total annual water demand will be reduced more than 10%.
